Simple Herbal Remedies

I wrote this poem about my parents. My mum has had chronic Multiple Sclerosis for over 30 years and my dad, who adores her, has supported her through it all. I am so proud of them both!

Through It All

Beast came creeping in the night,
Broke your spirit, drained your fight;
Stole your movements, fogged your mind,
Cruel disease...... so unkind.
Once statuesque, with quick, sharp brain,
Now immobile, racked with pain;
Shattered dreams and broken heart,
MS ripped your world apart.

Researched for years, yet still no cure,
Full of hope, but never sure;
Pray for miracles every day,
But optimism ebbs away,
As if, in vain we search for gold,
Resignation takes a hold,
As more we see this foe progress,
Spreading anguish and distress.

Yet during this, a love so strong,
Has held you up and spurred you on;
Remained beside you through it all,
To pick you up each time you fall.
Coexistent all these years,
Shared your laughter and your tears;
Despite what life has thrown at you,
This radiant love has shone... right through.
