My name is Richard and reside in Southern California with my wife of 33 years. I have read and enjoyed poetry from as far
back as I can remember but just started writing three years ago at fifty under the name astralshepherd. I am convinced there
is within me an element that desires peace. Peace between nationalities, races, religions is something I would like to see
happen; maybe I am too naïve but I think poets can change people's perspective of the world. I am not much of a poet by the
world standards of what make great poets and poems, but I am becoming aware that I have a voice that grows in confidence with
each poem I attempt. That confidence has allowed me to express my own unique personal outlook on life, on being.
paint the sky with roses
shine sky, shine
billow your wonder white
float on whispered prayers
across azure heavens
blaze on joyous orb
spill your wonder bright
paint the sky with roses
till eyes close in quiet rest
