I Wonder Where The Moon Has Gone
I wonder where the moon has gone,
it isn't in the sky,
the stars are glowing all alone,
I stand here wondering why.
The trees are rustling their lonely leaves,
boughs are leaning to and fro,
the bark on the trunk encasing the life,
of the tree as it continues to grow.
The wind sends out feelers as it gathers speed,
searching continuously cross land and sea,
it misses the moon on this beautiful night,
It's lost without it, the same as me.
The birds are silent they offer no sound,
tis the earth in mourning you see,
not a single moan from night creatures is heard,
moon come forth! is my heartfelt plea.
I close my eyes and offer a prayer,
for the luminaries to open their hand,
with baited breath and a cry in my heart,
I supplicate the promise of the land.
"Be here for me always" the land did say,
the first time I encountered its treasure,
how could I do otherwise when my heart and soul
were swathed in such ecstatic pleasure.
So here I stand on this moonless night,
entwined in memories of a beautiful moon,
when suddenly the sounds of the earth begin,
to resound in a choir like tune.
I look up to the heavens and my eyes do see,
the orb as it comes out in the sky,
I give thanks to the land my mother earth,
My soul breathing a special sigh.

Moments of Joy with Nature
A lone orchid hidden,
'neath grass that is so green,
buttercups displaying their golden yellow sheen~
Purple clover evident,
with bog cotton far and wide,
waves dancing a duet,
as horse tails on the tide~
Ocean colour changing,
from dark blue to emerald green,
as the sun shines upon it,
the most beautiful I have ever seen~
Seagull cries carry,
on the wind across the sea,
a porpoise in the water,
has it's eye on you and me~
Disappearing for a moment,
acrobatic time of joy,
then it's off ...a flash of silver,
making it's way across ... to Hoy~
