A palette of colours(1)
Nature's palette is filled with vibrant hues.
Cheery jonquils, pretty purples, ravishing reds,
Bright pinks, pearly whites, luminous blues,
Resplendent rainbows resting in the flower beds.
Cheery jonquils, pretty purples, ravishing reds
Blending so well to make this kaleidoscopic world!
Resplendent rainbows resting in the flower beds,
How buoyant they look with their wings unfurled!
Blending so well to make this kaleidoscopic world,
A group of peacocks dance on the dull brown earth.
How buoyant they look with their wings unfurled!
It's a ballet to behold and a sight of infinite worth.
A group of peacocks dance on the dull brown earth
As gray clouds rain relief on russet coloured reeds.
It's a ballet to behold and a sight of infinite worth,
When green shoots rise from the core of seeds.
As gray clouds rain relief on russet coloured reeds,
The red-beaked parakeets seek shelter in the trees.
When green shoots rise from the core of seeds,
Their song of freedom is carried by the breeze.
The red-beaked parakeets seek shelter in the trees,
As the sun splashes orange tint in the azure sky.
Their song of freedom is carried by the breeze
And sublime colours overwhelm the eye.
As the sun splashes orange tint in the azure sky,
Bright pinks, pearly whites, luminous blues
And sublime colours overwhelm the eye.

River!
Canoes swing merrily through reeds,
Humming silent river's soothing melodies.
Turquoise waters reflect moonlight's radiance.
Floating petals promise fragrant sensations.
Flickering lights display sleepy hamlets.
Cobbled pathways entice tired eyelids.
Lofty temple towers stand unflinchingly.
Sculptures beckon. Fleeting glimpses bewitch.
Flippant Zephyr rocks drifting canoes,
While reverentially ringing temple bells.
Sonorous tintinnabulations resonate.
Chirping crickets chorus river's serenade.
Boats glide along ancient river banks
Where forgotten civilizations flourished.
These waters bathed unknown bodies,
Nurtured their fields, carried their remains.
Ravaging, reinforcing, rejuvenating
Mimicking eternal whisperings, these waters
Meander through seasons, years, centuries.
Never stagnant; Eternal amidst change.

My garden( after the storm)
Passion spent,
The storm relents.
Leaving in its wake,
Broken twigs as keepsake.
Sparrows linger in their nests,
Subdued by the tempest's song.
Strewn leaves adorn the wet ground.
Puddles reflect the mayhem around.
Yet, my garden is serene,
Like a Buddhist monk immersed in prayer.
My troubled mind finds tranquility here.

The Wilderness.
Winding hills echo the refrain of the wild.
Cool breeze whispers the refrain of the wild.
As sparkling stars stir out from their grand lair,
Night creatures prowl in the domain of the wild.
Snakes and fruit bats efface sleep from their eyes.
Crickets repeat the gusty strain of the wild.
Scampering mice play the game of endurance.
Barn owls announce their short-lived reign of the wild.
Something slithers unhurriedly through the grass,
Scouting for prey in lush terrain of the wild.
The frogs croaking besides the gurgling brooks,
Fall silent, pursued by the bane of the wild.
The fittest survive and celebrate their feat.
The weak succumb in the campaign of the wild.
As the dawn breaks out on the Krishna River,
The birds warble to a fresh refrain of the wild.
